Nacka Chamber Choir, an introduction

Nacka Chamber Choir aims at performing varied and good choir music, sacred as well as secular, to reach out to a broad audience. Nacka Chamber Choir has become known for its performances of works by the great masters, such as Mozart, Brahms, Handel, Verdi and Bach. We always appear with professional musicians and soloists of the highest standard.

Nacka Church, just outside Stockholm, is the home of the choir and here most of our concerts take place. The audience appreciates the programmes and the concerts are well-attended. Not only people from Nacka but also from Stockholm find their way to our concerts, in spite of keen competition from churches in the inner city. Now and then the choir also gives concerts in the centre of Stockholm.

From being a small church choir in Nacka, Nacka Chamber Choir has developed into an established and well-organized choir of about 40 singers aged between 25 and 60. Every Tuesday the choir rehearses in the church hall. There is a friendly atmosphere with lots of laughter - and singing, of course. New ways are now being tried with smaller concert pieces and a lighter repertoire with concerts in different parts of the district. Nacka Chamber Choir is also working on a wide a cappella repertoire of Scandinavian choir lyrics as well as songs from other countries.
